Working as a full stack developer, with a front end focus, I have the opportunity to write code for students across the state of Texas who suffer from drug and weapon use. Duties included the creation, maintenance, and improvement of web applications for TxSSC both internally and externally; designing and developing all front-end user interfaces to create a quality user experience and improve UI design and functionality; assist in the improvement of test suites for all applications; and working with legacy code in the redesigning of soon-to-be deprecated versions of apps.

As a part-time contractor, I had the wonderful opportunity to join DSR by creating new endpoints in their Rails API, in preparation of redesigning an MVC Rails app into a React/Rails API application. Over the course of two weeks, I was asked to match an example JSON file with information that was sent from specific API endpoints to the DOM. After finishing this project, I was also asked to design new features for their current MVC Rails app. These features included implementing new model migrations that were used for data tracking for the current app's MVC structure, creating customized DOM-manipulation (via JavaScript) for better UI, and efficiently pushing code from testing to production.

Heart Support is a company that brings people who need help with anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts to people who have help to give. While volunteering on a 6 week sprint, I had the pleasure of "writing code that matters" and working with a team of developers to bridge the gap between social media posts concerning these topics, to therapists who can help. We connected users on Facebook who are suffering from depression to the Heart Support discourse channel and database. We accomplished this by implementing several methods which register users in HS’s database using Facebook's API. As a team, we held weekly standups, pair programmed over Zoom, communicated over Slack, and met goals with Trello.

Primary duties in this position included leading the adult choir, organizing rehearsals, organizing brass ensembles for special services, conducting instrumental and choral works, contracting musicians, and organizing financial duties associated with the music department.

Responsibilities in this position included organizing four major concerts a year, co-directing a yearly musical, organizing multiple fundraisers, several of which resulted in over $5,000 in profits, handling financial accounts for the choir program, and organizing multiple trips throughout the year. Successes in this position included a growth of this program from 90 students to over 240 students in two years, the addition of a school musical, the addition of extra opportunities for students to perform, excellent and superior ratings at UIL Concert & Sight Reading.

Gemischer Chor Harmonie is a community choir that only sings German music based out of New Braunfels, TX. Duties have included scheduling performances and organizing music for each performance. While direktor of GCH, membership grew from 30 to 55 voices strong.

Responsibilities in this position included directing, planning and leading the combined 6th grade boys and girls choirs, leading the Treble choir, organizing the Spring fundraiser, maintaining and entering new students into the Charms Office database for Hudson MS, as well as organizing and maintaining the choir library. Successes in this position included: multiple nominations for teacher of the month, having over 60 students rank Superior in the district’s Solo/Small Ensemble competition, and having 27 students audition for, and participate, in the All-Region Honor Choir (second highest number of students in the region from one school).
