Key Roles: Act as software design lead to ensure team projects and professional goals are accomplished as efficiently as possible. Provide 24x7 support for over 100 IP Engineering tools. Translate budget constraints into functional automation allowing further reductions in Op-Ex. Extract, aggregate, and format various network-centric data, constructing appropriate metrics for use by the IP Engineering Director, in order to justify additional Cap-Ex to upper management, among other things. Major Achievements: One of three IP Engineering members of Routing Engineering assigned to build Global Crossing's new $10 million SuperCore network. Acted as lead engineer during site upgrades, managing network control center and network design personnel to implement new equipment. Created tools to build and proof device configurations.

Key Roles: Created automation for the Routing Engineering Group within IP Engineering. Provided 3rd level engineering support to the Network Control Center during on-call rotations. Major Achievements (Magnum Opus): Conceived, designed and implemented a propriety software mining application to identify relevant Uniform Configuration-part Instances (UCIs), comparing them against established standards, thus finding both the intersection as well as the symmetric difference sets. Every week, this application is responsible for the auditing of over 400 UCIs to ensure standardization on each of the 1000 or so world-wide production networking devices. As well as the mining application, a propriety data preprocessor was developed to render the data for sourcing not only by the mining application, but as a simplistic method to retrieve derived Juniper and Cisco configurations. This has allowed all members of IPEng find relevant device configurations, much more efficiently.

Key Roles: Provided 3rd level network engineering support/direction for 2nd level Network Operations group. Developed software to automate simple network-troubleshooting and management-related tasks. Major Achievements: Created application to securely automate network device access using gpg encryption. This tool simply requires the user to define the target device and his/her network access password; with those arguments set, it decrypts the master password file, determines the relevant physical region, extracts the requisite password and, finally, spawns an ssh process to access the device.
