My primary role within Lakeland is now to take a lead technical role in any given project to improve the operational effectiveness of the business through the development, deployment, or enhancement of IT systems, as dictated by Lakeland’s strategic plan. The role requires me to Liaise with various stakeholders within Lakeland to establish internal, client led, business requirements for developing new, and enhancing existing, IT systems. To coordinate and influence project teams in achieving these common goals and ensure that their expectations are managed appropriately.

Windermere

Initially a first line support role which developed into a retail specific role within a few years. Whilst on first line support I developed a good operational understanding of MS Office, AD, networking and ITIL, alongside many other systems such as SQL and Windows. I was the principle IT resource for Lakeland during the implementation of Retail Java. I have now been working with RJ for over 8 years and have an extensive knowledge of the product. I have been heavily involved in a number of key projects within Lakeland including the successful implementation of Mail Order Through The Till, Click & Collect, The Retail Intranet and USEFT. My role often requires me to draw up specifications for processes/applications. When doing this I always ensure it is done from both an operational and, more importantly, end-user point of view.

Kendal

It was my responsibility to provide management support for a growing team. The Kendal branch had one of the highest increasing turnovers year-on-year and was seen as a Centre of Excellence in the region. It was thus imperative that merchandising, staffing and processes were always of the highest standard.

Kendal

Having worked as a General Assistant in the same company, I took this role straight from secondary education and was in charge of a small team. In order to keep up with the rigorous demands of both the consumer and the business, this role demanded high levels of motivation, accuracy and efficiency.
