♦ Support WRPS vapor issue under Production Operations Process Engineering through waste disturbing activity analysis of 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in 177 underground tanks in vicinity of 586-square-mile Hanford site.♦ Estimate concentration of chemicals of potential concern (e.g. mercury, ammonia, nitrosamines) in retained gas bubbles of various tank transfers.♦ Retrieve and analyze data for calculations through programming systems using various technological interfaces (e.g. Tank Waste Information Network System (TWINS), Surveillance Data Display System (SDDS), Site Wide Industrial Hygiene Database (SWIHD)). ♦ Retrieve ventilation data and tank related information for writing published technical documents of calculations and results through Integrated Document Management System (IDMS).♦ Earned Engineering certification through completing technical qualifications via numerous class training sessions (e.g. Human Performance Improvement, Design Process, Nuclear Physics, Production Operations Process Controls) ♦ Volunteer at company sponsored community events to inspire culture change (e.g. Judge of middle school science fair projects, participated in various public speaking lectures at elementary schools for Engineers Week)

President of National Society of Black Engineers, UCSD Chapter ♦ Directed biweekly general body meetings of 20+ attendees, and weekly executive board meetings.♦ Exercised interpersonal skills when collaborating with seven board members. ♦ Facilitated communication among NSBE chapters from 10+ universities around the nation.♦ Implemented new mentoring program that resulted in a 50 percent increase in active members. ♦ Hosted the UCSD NSBE Chapter’s Faculty-Student Dinner for 60 participants.

♦ Representative Project: In charge of a diverse team of four engineering students (as an engineering design intern for Global Algae Innovations) that designed process transforming algal biomass into Biofuel. ♦ Prepared PFD (Process Flow Diagram), reviewed P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams). Prepared technical report, memos, final design report.♦ Performed FEMA, HAZOP, life cycle analyses. Used Matlab to model process and troubleshooting for process improvement. Monitored cost and used Aspen Plus to economically assess project. Presented talks/results via video and poster session.♦ Representative Project: Analyzed the performance of a cooling tower through varying water-to-air flow rates, resulting in observing increasing efficiency increases number of transfer units.♦ Representative Project: Created titration curve to analyze the degradation of methylene blue dye by ultra-violet light through mechanism of ultraviolet Photocatalysis. Used Matlab to plot Langmuir-Hinshelwood model, resulting in assessment of waste water treatment.

♦ Led team of seven engineering students in air pollution program (working both as a team and independently) of designing a prototype gas mask for residents in Kathmandu, Nepal, reducing air pollution.♦ Used engineering skills to conduct field investigations to create mask through 3-dimensional computer-aided design (3D CAD) modelling software, collected data from stakeholders, served as facilitator in final decision making of design.♦ Built positive relationship with client through advice and consulting, served as liaison in providing frequent updates on project progress.♦ Used technological devices, computer programming, and critical thinking to brainstorm methods of minimizing air pollution, analysis of emission of air contaminants and conduct estimates about quality, cost and safety to follow safety regulations.♦ Prepared surveys, memos, and presentations, oral and written technical report to assess and present results of air pollution program.
