Michael E. Benzi, Esq. is a Principal at Federated National Land and is an attorney duly admitted to practice before the State of New York. Mr. Benzi’s primary area of practice is commercial and residential real estate and tax credits in connection with low-income housing projects. He developed his expertise in the area of low-income housing tax credit law and municipal finance as an associate with Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan, LLP, (N/K/A Winston & Strawn LLP) where Mr. Benzi acted as bond counsel to the New York City Industrial Development Agency, as well as acted as outside counsel to the National Equity Fund, Inc., which is the largest not-for-profit syndicator of low-income housing tax credits in the country. Over the past twenty years, as part of Mr. Benzi’s real estate practice, he has also represented many institutional lenders in connection with residential lending in New York. In 2004 Mr. Benzi helped to create Paradigm Title Agency as Chief Operating Officer where he guided Paradigm Title from a start up title agency to a thriving business capable of handling small residential transactions to complex multi-million dollar commercial transactions. In February of 2007 Mr. Benzi formed Federated Title Services and with Mr. Benzi’s extensive commercial experience it wasn’t long before Federated Title had established its reputation in the commercial title arena as a title agency that was familiar with how to navigate the complexities of commercial title transactions. In 2015 Mr. Benzi formed Federated National Land with partners Sonia V. Blake, Esq. and Michelle Palijario as a certified MWBE company. Mr. Benzi has also spoken as a panelist for the continuing legal education seminar entitled “Future Perspectives on Affordable Housing & Economic Development in New York City: Policy & Practice” for the New York City Bar Association. Mr. Benzi is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School.
