Consultant Neurosurgeon 1993 - 2020, at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital (retired 2013), and North Shore Private Hospital (retired 2020). Established the Neurosurgical Unit at North Shore Private Hospital when the hospital opened in 1998, acting as Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery from 1998 - April 2015. I took up a part time role in April 2015 as Director of Medical Services, North Shore Private Hospital, Castlecrag Private Hospital, and Hunters Hill Private Hospital, continuing in this role until April 2017.I completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at La Trobe University in 2018.I was awarded an OAM in June 2019 for services to Medicine, particularly Neurosurgery.I was Co-Founder of The Brain Cancer Group, formerly Sydney Neuro Oncology Group (SNOG), a group dedicated to raising money for Brain Cancer research, education and patient/carer support. To date, over $15 million has been raised since The Brain Cancer Group was incorporated as a tax deductible registered charity. I served as Deputy Chairperson for 20 years.In July 2022 I took on the voluntary role of Chief Medical Officer and Executive Board Director of Atomic Oncology Pty Ltd - a Company developing a world-first assay to predict radio-responsiveness in any solid cancer, allowing for tailored therapy and precision medicine that is appropriate for that specific patient.I continue to undertake research projects and publish in Australian and International Journals.
