Starting with the Air Force experience I have tried to work with complex computing and communications systems. As a technician I was part of a combat crew during the cold war working on a reconnaissance airborne platform. This provided both the funding and interest in getting a Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Kansas. My first Engineering position was with E-Systems as a systems engineer working on the same platform I worked on in the Air Force. I specialized in designing and integrating system software for communications and cryptography equipment. After four years at E-systems in Texas I decided to come back to the Kansas City and found a position at Wilcox Electric. At Wilcox I worked on the Wide Area Augmentation System once again as a systems engineer. This was a very interesting program that augmented the existing GPS signals for use in Airplane navigation. Wilcox lost the program to a partner and I was laid off and took my current position at Honeywell FM&T. At Honeywell I started as a Network Engineer and specialized in secure network design. I have moved into overall IT design and currently work in Enterprise Architecture. As an enterprise architect I have been working with Identity Management, Application Integration, Collaboration, etc. I have just announced my retirement date of 4/1/26. I am a having great career and have enjoyed being at the highest technical position for over a decade. Specialties: Network Design, Enterprise Architecture, Systems Engineering, Zero Trust, Cloud Architecture.
