In this role, I undertake experiments that will be used to support engineering changes to production lines. This involved includes undertaking stability testing on antineoplastic sterile injectable (drugs commonly used in chemotherapy) samples via HPLC, GC, pH, Karl Fischer titration and particulate analyses. This position requires an understanding of GLP principles as all laboratory notes and analytical results must be attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and accurate.

Working within the quality team, this role involved performing a combination of feature-driven and exploratory testing of Agilent’s analytical instrumental and software platforms. This required being hands-on with a range of spectroscopy products: UV-Vis spectrophotometers; Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometers and imaging systems; and Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometers (ICP-OES).Daily activities involved conducting various assessments of the of the instrument’s functionality and its usability, to establish whether it is considered fit-for-purpose. Recording the results of satisfactory testing and logging any fixes that needed to be investigated further. A complete matrix of testing was conducted prior to any new model or software version that was released.
