Lead government affairs and policy development activities in countries around the world, including the United States. Lead a global team of over 120 people. Advise CEO, Board of Directors and global management team on public policy risks and opportunities, as well as the intersection between public policy, communications and both external and internal drivers of reputation. Oversee FOCUS, a community-based public health program focused on screening, linkage-to-care and best practices partnerships with state and local government entities, health care providers, and other community stakeholders. Chair Gilead Political Action Committee which increased in size by over 140% since 2022. Named a "Top Lobbyist" by The Hill in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Current Chair of the governing body of the global biopharmaceutical industry trade assocation, IFPMA.

Launched public and government affairs consulting firm that provided global expertise to generate a more in-depth understanding of clients' external challenges, innovative policy solutions and comprehensive strategies to achieve changes in public policy. Clients included PhRMA and Exact Sciences, Inc. Also served as a Senior Consultant with Charles River Associates, a global consulting firm, and advised on several major initiatives for bio-pharmaceutical companies and industry associations.

Built global government affairs function for biopharmaceutical company established in 2013 (spun off from Abbott Laboratories). Led a global team of over 40 professionals representing AbbVie to U.S. and other governments and serving as a strategic partner to business leaders in proactively addressing emerging issues/trends potentially impacting AbbVie. Established AbbVie Political Action Committee (PAC) and achieved growth to make it a top 50 corporate PAC in 2016.

Directed global team of over 70 professionals that provided strategic direction and support for public policy advocacy aligned with commercial strategies in all countries outside of the United States. Before being promoted to lead International Public Affairs, led 15-person team that directed public affairs activities for Pfizer’s 4 pharmaceutical business units and served on commercial leadership team of Pfizer’s largest Business Unit, Primary Care. Chaired internal team that coordinated company advocacy on implementation of U.S. Affordable Care Act.

In addition to my role at Schering-Plough, was appointed to serve as the interim leader of IFPMA, the pharmaceutical industry's global trade association in Geneva, Switzerland. Served as the industry's chief interlocutor on global health issues with the World Health Organization (WHO) and was the principal external communicator for industry on issues relating to global health, including the H1N1 flu vaccine. Took steps to improve performance and sustainability of association.

Directed public affairs and policy activities outside the United States for global pharmaceutical company. Led Schering-Plough’s interaction with the U.S. and foreign governments on health care reform, market access barriers and intellectual property issues in countries outside of the United States. In addition, directed patient relations activities in targeted therapeutic areas.

Represented Pfizer to US Government on health, trade, and intellectual property issues. Received Upjohn award for contributions to the community.
