An effective leader with strategic management skills. Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management ability. Experience in complex golf course project management development. I have spent 37 years preparing and constructing golf courses. This included the planning, approvals and construction of Manly Golf Course between 1997 and 2012. This $15m project included complex environmental constraints due the low lying nature of the site with Potential Acid Sulphate Soils (PASS), and contaminated fill. It included management of 6,000m3 of PASS, spear point dewatering of all constructed creeks, construction of seven bridges and a 50 metre boardwalk over Manly Lagoon, construction of a $2M stormwater harvesting and treatment facility, installation of an electricity sub-station and 3km of concrete paths.Harnessing the support of Club members, council, government authorities and community for this project took many years with multiple presentations and patient stakeholder management. I was given the responsibility of project managing the three stages of construction with the challenges of keeping at least nine holes in play and dealing with five floods including a 1 in 20 year event. All stages were managed under budget. In the 12 months after opening the new course the Club received 180 applications for membership.After leading Manly Golf Club through the re-construction and establishment of the new course I have played an integral part in the development of a strategic plan to build business stability and security toward 2020. This has provided a controlled assessment of both desirable and necessary asset improvements in the Clubhouse and Course along with business opportunities and risks.I completed my Master Degree at Sydney University in 2004. In 2013 I received the AGCSA Excellence in Golf Course Management Award and attended Deere Run in Illinois to assist during the lead up and tournament for the John Deere Classic PGA tour event.
