As SamaraCare's Executive Director, I lead a team of compassionate therapists and psychiatrists who positively impact people's lives every day. Together we focus on fulfilling SamaraCare's mission to foster emotional, relational and spiritual life-changing care. We advance affordable access to mental health services by providing reduced cost services to those in need. We provide both in-person and online counseling, psychiatric care and autism services. Our team prioritizes addressing the unique emotional, physical, spiritual, and social needs of each client. Prior to my current role, I was SamaraCare's Clinical Director for 6 years and as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I continue to see some counseling clients. I have extensive experience as a coach and consultant working with clergy and congregations in areas including leadership, strategic planning, and conflict mediation. Prior to joining SamaraCare I spent 15 years in parish ministry, most recently as a senior pastor of a multi-staff congregation.I’m honored to be part of the counseling process which not only improves well-being but helps individuals, couples, and families find their lives more rewarding and satisfying. From a clinical perspective, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and rely heavily on the Bowen family systems theory which views the family as an intensely connected emotional unit. From this, I've witnessed many of my clients make meaningful progress in their personal and professional relationships. As a Certified Neuro Emotional Technique practitioner, I help individuals identify and let go of “stuck” mind-body stress patterns. I work with adults, couples, families, and older adults specializing in treatments for anxiety and panic disorders, depression and stress, marital and family conflict, grief and loss, spirituality/faith/existential challenges, and trauma recovery.
