My name is Mike and I'm a Canadian currently living in Melbourne. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with specialisations in childhood development, music cognition and gender studies. I am passionate about psychology and the study of society, specifically social integration and community studies.Much of my work experience involves the hospitality and customer service sectors. I have 10 years of experience in customer-facing roles, a field of work that has allowed me to travel extensively; I have worked abroad in a number of countries from Canada, to the UK, to Australia.I also have experience in teaching, having worked abroad as a primary school English teacher and currently tutor adults learning English online. I also have a love of animals and currently work part time as a dog walker, and have recently assumed a role as a part time property manager. While I remain in the hospitality sector, I am hoping to branch out and utilise my academic background to pursue a career in social work or occupational therapy. If given the opportunity I would love to make a difference in people's lives with the aim of appealing to their interests and passions, strengthening their self-confidence, and helping them achieve their goals.
