I began my imaging career as a Pima Community College student at the University Campus of UAHN in 1994. I was certified as a Radiologic Technologist by the ARRT in 1996 and began working at Carondolet St. Joeseph's Hospital as a staff technologist as well as what was then UMC. After spending a about a year in Diagnostic Imaging at both hospitals I left St. Joseph's and began training at the University to become a CT technologist as well. A couple of years and few thousand CT scans later I passed the ARRT registry exam for CT. After honing my imaging skills at one of the best trauma centers in the west I decided that it was time to finish the Bachelors degree I had started at the U of A. By finishing my BS in Business Administration I was able to build on past management experience to improve my problem solving and communications skills. Shortly after graduation I was able to move into my current Chief Technologist position.It was around the same time that I went back to finish my BS that I decided I would work on a degree as a professional pilot as well. I had always wanted to be a pilot but never had the resources available to pay for the education. Once I was earning a decent living and the possibility to learn something exciting like flying was available I took it. Over the course of a couple years I spent countless hours studying on the ground and about 320 hours in the air flying small planes until I completed my Certified Flight Instructor Certificate. Although tempted by a job offer and the idea of teaching others to fly I ultimately decided that I did not want to leave imaging.
