My role is as Head of QA leading the QA effort on the Fusion project. Fusion is a Micro Services based project employing a variety of technologies such as Docker and Maven.The responsibilities in this role include:• Design QA and test processes for the Fusion project. This involves working as a ‘Test Coach’ to drive the development team and QA Engineers to adequately test the product.• Analyse product design and determine tests, automation, and integration activities required based on the general focus of the product, through my own knowledge of the product and in collaboration with the Development team and QA Engineers.• Identify and debug issues encountered and collaborate with the Development team to create and verify solutions.• Lead the QA team to develop efficient, reliable and effective testing for the Fusion project.• Liaise with other teams which may consume our Micro Services in other projects to ensure that they meet their requirements.• Collaborate and communicate clearly and coherently with the Development Director, Development team leads and individual developers regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.• Provide guidance and mentoring to other QA members as well as developers within the Agile team.

My role is primarily to work as a Senior QA Engineer embedded within a number of Agile development teams. I am currently working on the Common Application Framework project and previously worked on the ControlPoint product.My responsibilities in this role include:• Assist in the design of QA and test processes for the Common Application Framework utilizing the automated testing framework and Intelligent Software Testing Framework.• Analyze product design and determine tests, automation, and integration activities required based on the general focus of the product, through my own knowledge of the product and in collaboration with the developers during storytime.• Write and execute complete testing plans and documentation for the product as per the defined stories and vision for the product.• Identify and debug issues encountered and collaborate with the developers to create and verify solutions.• Assist the QA team to develop efficient, reliable and effective testing for the Common Application Framework project and previously the ControlPoint project.• Collaborate and communicate with clearly and coherently with the development director, development team leads and individual developers regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.• Provide guidance and mentoring to other QA members as well as developers within the Agile team. I also provide support for the QA team that works on ControlPoint to assist the ease of handover.

I was the Product Expert for the Borland product Silk Central Test Manager which is a Test and Quality Management tool. This involves the following responsibilities:• Reviewing all second line engineer requests to development.• Attending development sprint reviews and assisting with QA testing of new builds.• Researching possible future direction for the product through customer and development interaction.• Delivering targeted training to the team on the functionality of the product and how to troubleshoot issues.• Assisting team members with research on issues logged by customers.• Producing and reviewing product guidance videos that have been published on YouTube.In this role I also created many test environments which showcase the integration of Silk Central Test Manager with other Borland tools as well as third-party tools, examples of this are:• Created and maintain a Web Services project which enables users to utilise the majority of Silk Central Test Manager’s functionality through the Web Services API.• Have setup and maintain multiple Issue Tracking integrations such as Silk Central Issue Manager, Bugzilla, JIRA, TFS, StarTeam, ClearQuest etc.• Have setup and maintain Source Control integrations such as Subversion and TFS.• Have setup and maintain Requirements Management integrations such as Caliber.I also have extensive experience of delivering second and third line product support to customers for Micro Focus products, primarily Silk Central Test Manager and Caliber. In my previous team I also gained experience in SilkTest, TestPartner and QADirector on various Windows and UNIX platforms. This involves the following responsibilities:• Technical diagnosis, investigation, problem reproduction and resolution of support cases submitted by customers, consultants and partners worldwide.• Through this I have gained experience in Automation Scripting using an object orientated approach.

In this role I was involved in the full lifecycle of Software Testing. My responsibilities included the following:• Conducting reviews of requirement documents.• Writing Test Plans based on business requirements documents.• Creating Data to implement the Test Plan and the full range of testing procedures in order to adequately test the application and to cover all of the business requirements.• Perform Functional, System and Automation testing of mainly Web based applications using various tools such as Quick Test Professional.• Log any defects that were indentified during testing to the development team using the Rational ClearQuest defect management tool.• I was the System (End to End) Testing Subject Matter Expert (SME) and was responsible for a team of 6 people based in both Belfast and Chicago which involved coordinating workloads and reporting back to stakeholders on both sites.
