I started as a Junior engineer supporting senior staff on project design, detailing and testing prototypes. I then lead my own project where I did the same and took the product through to mass production. This role has now progressed through to where I oversee the modified standard sample process. This involves receiving a customer specification, outlining the design for customer approval, detailing engineering drawings and creating a bill of materials, manufacturing prototypes, then finally to mass production. I both lead and assist the team in designing the products to meet spec, investigating issues that arise, finding the best solutions given time/cost constraints and help with raising issues on the flag pole when required.

I started as an apprentice, eventually stepping up to do all design, programming, setting and machining for numerous manual and CNC operated machines from mills and lathes to laser cutters. This involved design changes as manufacture proceeded to incorporate corrections to errors found, and continuous improvement.
