Primary Expertise: Senior Executive Management including Bank Operations, Technology Systems, Financial Management, Compliance Management, Strategic Planning, Forecasting/Budgeting, and Asset/Liability Management Processes.Michael Carson brings 30 years of bank senior executive management experience to his role as senior consultant. He assists clients with strategic consulting in the areas of process improvement, operational workflow optimizations, board/senior management strategic planning, technology contract negotiations, financial reporting systems design, financial reporting product evaluations and core vendor decisions and contract negotiations.Prior to joining Vitex, Michael served for 11 years as a founding board of director, the EVP-Operations, and Chief Financial Officer for a highly successful $300 million national bank in Athens, Georgia. After the successful sale of a $100 million commercial bank in 1998, Michael and two other senior management executives from the recently acquired institution completely organized and opened the new bank in May 2000. Michael and his colleagues performed each step of the organization and opening process for the bank. This included: evaluating and implementing all technology and operational systems; setting up all accounting, internal controls and financial reporting systems; developing all corporate governance and regulatory compliance policies and procedures; writing the charter application; soliciting the founding directors and key investors; and working with all regulatory authorities to gain approval to begin operating the bank and holding company. The bank opened in May 2000 and became cumulatively profitable within 18 months of opening and has never experienced an annual net loss.Michael holds a BBA with a double major in finance and management science from the University of Georgia and he is a 1991 graduate of the Graduate Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University.

Responsibility for all financial and operational activities of the commercial bank including, but not limited to, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, interest rate sensitivity analysis, regulatory compliance, all technology related systems, and human resources management.
