I manage the Operations team which is made up of; four Duty Officers, twelve Sports Attendants and eleven Sports Receptionists.It is my managerial responsibility to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day operations of the University of Stirling Sports facilities.

University Of Stirling, Stirling

•Primary responsibility to ensure effective day to day operational management of the sports facilities, customers and a team of facilities staff within the Sports Development Service (SDS).•Facilities include National Swimming Academy, National Tennis Centre, Gannochy Sports Centre, Craig Gowan Football Centre, Airthrey 9 hole golf course, grass and synthetic outdoor playing areas and sports science performance labs.•Position is customer service based and positive customer care skills are essential•Project responsibilities have included introducing and reviewing operational initiatives, procedures, policies and instructions. •Development and annual update of health and safety documents and practices.•Facility maintenance, safety and cleanliness of our facilities to a national performance centre standard.•Purchasing and procurement responsibilities such as operational goods, large sports equipment, staff uniform, sports facility development projects.•Relationship management with external agencies and National Governing Bodies. Resident NGBs include Sportscotland Institute of Sport and the Central Sporting Partnership, Scottish Swimming, Triathlon Scotland, Tennis Scotland and the LTA, Commonwealth Games Scotland, St Johnstone FC and University Sports Union.•Management of operational staffing, recruitment, absence reporting, Occupational Health referrals, support and guidance meetings, disciplinary investigations and staff reviews.

Renfrewshire

•Responsible for Leisure club section of well established health club and hotel complex.•Line management of 7 full time staff.•Management of leisure facilities including a leisure pool with health suite & spa, fitness suite, squash courts, a crèche & soft play area and dance studio. •Programming timetable of adult fitness classes and children’s activities.•Povide high level of customer care to the 2000 members of the leisure club.•Taught fitness classes and assisted with inductions and programmes.•Retention, sales, tours and marketing of the facilities to prospective clients.•Opening and closing of leisure club, pool plant operations, building inspections and cleaning tasks, ordering of equipment and other administrative duties

•Project initiated by Armagh City and District Council and St Patrick's High School, Keady.•Objective to cross the social, community and historical boundaries in particular area of Northern Ireland. •Dual-Use Scheme aimed at utilising existing facilities at High School whilst developing state-of-the-art sports complex for use of both School and local community.•DM Role was to plan the structure of the Dual-Use Scheme/Recreation Centre, facilities offered, programme of activities and marketing of initiative to a diverse market. •Essential to create strong working relationships with local schools, sports groups, councilors, clubs and other external agencies and bodies. •Implemented and continually developed successful programmes and activities, whilst coordinating the administrative, financial and human resource processes within the Recreation Centre.Continually reviewed all procedures, Policies, rules and regulations for all staff and customers, developing and maintaining the highest standard of service possible.•Appraised the budgetary requirements of the Scheme. •Day-to-day management included control of bookings for indoor and outdoor sports facilities, liaising with external groups and bodies, selling and controlling memberships, invoicing clubs and groups, inducting the public into the fitness suite facility and providing fitness advise and programmes as required, and the programming and delivery of adult fitness classes.•Programmed, staffed and facilitated childrens holiday schemes and developed a range of exercise and sports initiatives to encourage participation in the local community.•The effective management, recruitment, training and development of Assistant DM and a pool of bank staff.

Shetland Recreational Trust

•Supervisory role within complex since initial opening.•Involved in the development of the facilities, courses, classes, activities, guidelines and procedures, as well as the initial and continual marketing and promotion of centre and products. •Created programme of community classes, clubs and groups.•Promoted and developed sports participation in the local area.•Implemented staff guidelines, policies and procedures.
