Engineering Technician
CurrentMy duties include but are not limited to the following,1. Assigning projects, training, and keeping our department in compliance with the SOP.2. Provide the chain of command with weekly status reports at meetings. Documenting the reports on E-projects and E- contracting programs.3. Inspect and analyze the projects we are assigned to. Review the customer's wants and needs. When needed, as needed, address any concerns or conflicts that may arise. Then, develop a project package to include Statements of Work (SOW), Independent Government Estimates (IGE), Environmental required documents, Red Zone and multiple other documents required by our command. When the package is ready for review, I submit the projects at the PRB (Project Review Board).4. I Keep the requirements branch and the customer apprised to the status of projects.5. I work closely with the acquisition team (Contracting), providing them with Technical Assessments (TA’s) on the contractor’s proposals.6. Additional duties include; Hold Pre-construction meetings, analyze safety plans, review and approve contractor’s submittals and drawings, Inspecting construction projects for compliance with design, specifications, and drawings. Ensuring the contractor is OSHA and EM385 safety compliant. Reviewing and certifying contractor payrolls and closing out the projects when completed.7. In the past, I have filled in as the supervisor for almost 6 months. I was awarded the Civilian supervisor of the quarter from Capt. Leif Steinbaugh, The Commanding Officer of NAS Fallon. I would have applied for the position but I was recently promoted and was 1 month shy of being eligible for another promotion. Leading and supervising come naturally to me. I have had years of experience in the private industry.In my 33 years of experience, I have been a Seabee Builder, Lead construction Inspector, Construction Manager, Engineering Tech and business owner.
