In my role as Buyer and Planner at Varex I purchase for our NDT product line via SAP, as well as creating and releasing Production Orders for sub assemblies going into our overall build. I also run monthly & quarterly reports for Cycle counts, Inventory reduction and Supplier Evaluation.My main duties include:- Sending RFQs to suppliers, and converting quotes received into POs- Maintaining supplier evaluation scores- Ensuring costing of BOMs are correct once assembly is completed - Stock and Inventory overview in terms of amount and value

Promoted to Strategic Buyer, along with my operational duties, I gained additional strategic duties.Firstly, I looked into larger cost saving initiatives and began negotiating with suppliers to achieve my personal goal and the departmental goal, looking into key areas where savings would be most beneficial. I also began reducing the number of vendors we procure certain categories from, whilst also ensuring supply by dual sourcing many of our components and working with our Planning Manager to oversee secure supply for production within our target timeframe. I oversaw the OTD-S for the site, helping specific vendors with improving their OTD and checking internally, ensuring data was being input correctly.

Coming into a very similar role as at the previous Heraeus location, but with a different focus on specific material categories. I stated overseeing the purchasing of sheet metal, packaging and hardware, then moving onto our Electronics side and miscellaneous materials. The challenge of this role was due to COVID-19, a lot of Electronics were obsoleted early and I had to maintain supply in order to deliver to our customer requirements and commitments.

During my time as Operational Buyer at Heraeus, my duties were expanded. I started to procure the raw materials used in our manufacturing process, develop better relationships with our vendors, process internal requisitions and looks after our suppliers OTD. This also led to training staff in for my previous role and creating SOPs. Working with our process and planning manager at Heraeus, we used our knowledge as SAP Key users and evaluated our standard purchasing processes, which led purchasing to begin using certain SAP transactions more often. This allowed purchasing to catch more material exceptions, and better identify material requirements. This worked together with other purchasing SAP transactions to ensure minimal material shortages, enhancing production efficiency.In October 2019, I became the procurement key user of Noblelight UK for our SAP system, and attended our User Acceptance Testing in Germany. After this was completed, I was part of the effort and oversaw the global Heraeus change to our new SAP system, which we have used since January 2020.

This was a dual role in both Planning and Procurement departments. Alongside assisting the purchasing department, by buying consumable materials, monitoring consignment stock from another Heraeus GBU & external vendor, and handling the departments credit card - I would assist the planning department by processing manufacturing reports and releasing production orders, collecting daily performance data and helping forecast future production work.

During my time as Operational Planner, the company's focus became more operational in order to maximise efficiency and increase gross profit. I initiated a system to incentivise engineers to test more items per day by beginning at their furthest site and working back towards their home location. This process ensured that the testing was completed to a time scale that allowed engineers to finish on time and near their homes. Additionally, this improved testing efficiency, increasing the company's profitability and the engineers' own earnings.

My main duties of administration assistant would include, typing safety compliance reports, raising invoices, managing client files and answering clients calls. Working within the administration team to achieve invoicing targets and working alone to hit individual targets. Consistently pushing to raise invoicing targets

At Mr Simms my main focus was customer service, stock rotation and presentation in the store. My main duty was to serve customers and make sure they get the best service and experience possible. I would submit creative ideas, which resulted in one of our products being called "Michael's interplanetary Gobstoppers" due to the design.
