USDA/FGIS Certified + Grain Inspector: Licensed Corn. Wheat & Soybean proficient, licensure pending. Experience with hops, rice, oats, barley. + Weights and Measures: Licensed Weigh man; Agricultural Bulk Weigh Scales Calibration and Certification. + Official Grain Lab Technician Licensed: Calibrate and check test lab scales and equipment, grain moisture analysis, grain test weight, dockage and grain separation. + Official Sample Technician Licensed: Bulk Sampler Calibration and Certification. Licensed in a variety of official USDA grain sample collection methods and official sample handling. + Mycotoxin Analysis Licenses: Aflatoxin, Zearalenone, Deoxynivalenol, Fumonisin Detection (ELISA). Experience with Genetic Screenings and Protein Content (Falling Number)As Inspector I routinely help manage and train teams of 3-5 technicians to provide on-site sampling and grade analysis as well as further lab analysis of grain commodities. Duties include sample collection, sample handling, sample identification and verification, sample preparation and analysis, results certification, chemical inventory control, equipment calibration and certification, and quality assurance. Our customer base includes all requested official grain certification in MI and parts of Northern Ohio (exception: Port of Detriot), including dozens of National and International Commodity trading concerns, crop insurance providers, hundreds of small farmers in MI northern Ohio and Indiana, and specialty crop producers.

Other duties included being integrated in the response team for a large tar sands oil leak into Talmadge Creek and the Kalamazoo River, managing household hazardous waste collection and cleanup, and investigating claims of environmental health concern, including (cleanup of Meth Amphetamine and other toxic drug residues, Illegal waste disposal, pest population control, unsanitary hoarding). Also On Site water supply (well head) and waste disposal (Septic) system regulation/planning/inspection, FBI (Food Bourne Illness) investigations, body art facility and artist certification and regulation. Such widely varying duties required study and acumen in a large library of state local and some federal laws and codes. Michigan Food Law 2000 as amended 2012. US Food Code as amended in MI 2009. FDA regulation Titles 113-114 (Canning Laws). CIP (Clean In Place) regulations for commercial food production, MI Cottage Food Law, Calhoun County Sanitation Code, MI Plumbing Code, state and local Building and Fire Codes, MI Body Art Law (PA 375 2010), MI Environmental Protection Laws (PA 451 1994) and related CFR (Codes of Federal Regulation). Of note as a Sanitarian was aiding set up a multi agency coordinated response to a large environmental threat at an old industrial site in Albion, MI.

+ Two years experience in a 5S automotive assembly environment. Primary duties were as machine operator and quality control associate. Team oriented manufacturing and problem solving atmosphere. We were tasked with precision calibration of delicate but heavy and powerful equipment such as multi ton press equipment. Effective team communication was critical for efficient operation. Experience and training in ISO 19001 and 14000 (since amended), Experience with QMS audits. Experience and training with precision measurement equipment and macroscopic video Inspection tools for QA/QC. Experience in industrial manufacturing and logistics; operation of PIV (powered industrial vehicles), press machinery, overhead crane, CNC machinery. Of note at Denso was a project in which I determined an adequate hands-on repair for a common production defect leading to thousands of salvaged defected units and preventing thousands of pounds of future scrapped parts.
