I was also a fire Marshall during my employment at Screw Centre. My duties as a Purchasing assistant and Buyer included:· Reporting to the Commercial Director & overseeing all daily purchasing requirements for the business.· Setting, monitoring & being responsible for daily duties for the assistant buyer.· Working in a targeted role to purchase goods and materials in line with specified costs, quality, and delivery targets.· Developing ideas and strategies to improve efficiencies and purchasing needs for the business.· Researching, selecting, and purchasing products/materials as per company requirements.· Researching and evaluating areas of opportunity and reducing costs where possible.· Running stock requirement reports to determine what stock was required for daily ordering.· Processing orders and requisitions with status updates and reporting this information to management.· Building relationships with existing and new suppliers to secure the best price, quantities, and delivery timescales.· Updating inventory & stock management to ensure we have key lines maintained at all times.· Manage and oversee order acknowledgements / Delivery notes plus assisting accounts with any invoice queries.· Working within part of a group buying team working collectively within the business network.
