- Developed propulsion models for Level D flight simulators for fixed-wing and rotary wing aircraft. Models included steady-state and transient operation including startup and shutdown as well as normal and abnormal operation throughout the full operational envelope.- Created the Steady-State Thermal Energy, Power & Propulsion Simulation (STEPPS) framework to facilitate the incorporation of NPSS engine cycle models into a power and thermal architecture for evaluation at discrete flight and thermal load conditions and conducted numerous studies using this tool.

Aerospace Systems Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. - Controls and Modeling Subgroup lead for the Integrated Power and Thermal Management System (IPTMS) for DEW program which seeks to validate IPTMS models and perform optimization studies- Conducted hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) research which combines real-time simulations and hardware in an integrated experiment to increase confidence in model predictions and reduce hardware test costs- Contributed to the Integrated Vehicle and Energy Technology (INVENT) program source selection and technical program execution- Developed simulations of aircraft subsystems such as a Generic Adaptive Turbine Engine (GATE) model- Helped develop in-house thermal and electrical tip-to-tail simulations which demonstrate the operation of aircraft subsystems integrated on a vehicle and present an opportunity for platform-level optimization- Led the development of the technical specification for and acquisition of an Advanced Power Emulator- Assisted in the procurement process for millions of dollars of research equipment- Successfully managed in-house and external contracted efforts exceeding $1M annually; supervised ~5 in-house contractors- Mentored co-ops to develop the future workforce while ensuring quality in delivered research products- Participated in tri-service community of interest meetings and international meetings with allied governments with a focus on energy, power, and thermal technologies- Over 15 public domain publications and presentationsASME Dayton Section Outstanding Young Engineer Award for 2010- Instrumental involvement in biennial Scientific Advisory Board Reviews; Best Poster, 2008 - 2007 Propulsion Directorate Scientist & Engineer of the Year, Civilian Achievement Award- Acquisition Professional Development Program Certification: SPRDE-STM Level 1 and 2, SPRDE-SE Level 1
