The Service Manager of a 30000 Sq Ft engineering, manufacturing and repair facility for Industrial Pumps and other rotating equipments based in Calgary Alberta, CanadaPrimarily responsible for the smooth coordination and scheduling of a Service Centre which includes millwrights, machinists, pipefitters and welders. The role covers 6 revenue streams, including rotating equipments overhaul, machining of new and reversed engineered parts, welding and package build up and manufacture of new pumps built to API and ANSE standards. Responsible for the management of up to 24 technicians of differing skillsets and their coordination.Typical works include assistance with engineering advice to clients on pump reliability, including choice of materials for coatings, improvements to pump build-up and use, and also control of subcontractors providing engineering assistance. Parts manufacturing using CNC lathes and Mills, and more traditional manual machines. Key to this is the project management of each task, to time and to budget to ensure comprehensive profit margins.The role is also responsible for the quality and timely output of all products, working with and generating KPI’s to substantiate performance of all teams. Quality Assurance and Control also plays a part in all workshop functions and this role ties in with those aspects of workshop life. Hertel Total Asset ManagementResponsible for a multidiscipline maintenance team overhauling Industrial Valves, Rotating Equipments including Centrifuges, and machining works including CNC works, condition monitoring and reliability studies for rotating equipments.Key to this is the Planning and resourcing of Multi discipline teams for routine maintenance and annual outages on sites including managing stocks accordingly. Duties included recruitment, personnel development and setting of goals, objectives and creating relevant KPIs. Activities include shutdown planning and response to breakdown situations. Member of Senior Management Team covering all site emergency situations. Currently involved in introduction of Reliability Maintenance services into the workshop portfolio. Responsible for all HSE activities within the workshop including utilisation of staff to determine stats and feedback. Was recently responsible along with another team member for securing a large-scale valve overhaul contract for £1.5M per year. Currently working on securing a large scale rotating equipment overhaul contract in the region of £1.5M per annum which includes reliability packages. Currently responsible for the rollout and development of a workshop wide LEAN 5S program to improve working environment and culture. Primarily responsible for recruitment and descaling of manpower according to workload. Analysis of Work order margins and shop floor profitability

Responsible for all Quality Assurance activities within a multi disciplined workshop. The workshop services included Fabrication activities, Valve and rotating equipment overhaul and machining works.Writing of Quality procedures and technical instructions, dealing with clients for Improvements, managing Quality Control across the workshop. Chairing Quality Assurance meetings, and relating to board level the QA and QC requirements. Gained ISO 9001 and Pressure Equipment Directive Module D within a short space of time and to budget for HTAM. Fully familiar with the QC requirements for spooling document packs and drawing control and registration. Responsible for hosting and conducting external client audits

Responsible for the serviceability, maintenance and servicing of a fleet of heavy vehicles worth in excess of £20M. Production of servicing forecasts, Modification Registers, and detailed maintenance studies. Managing a team of 60+ technicians and supervisors to achieve minimal downtime across the fleet. (Availability at 97% on leaving from 78%). Introduction of LEAN improvements and analysis of failure data to improve asset downtime. The LEAN work reduced overhaul time to 30% of original work estimates. Responsible for developing communications with Director level personnel and reporting of data. Key owner and project leader for several large scale projects including the introduction of a Management Information System to monitor workload and produce KPI's. Responsible for planning and developing work packages using a variety of software.

Manager for a large department of technicians, whose prime role was to ensure the integrity of all electronic and ballistic systems within armoured vehicles, including unplanned maintenance and scheduled maintenance programs.
