As CEO of IBC I have successfully repositioned the event from a broadcasting convention to the leading international event for the creation management and delivery of entertainment and news content. The success can be measured every year so far as record attendance, record revenues and profits and record levels of positive international media coverage.This has been achieved by introducing new areas of electronic media including digital cinema plus content on connected devices (beginning with mobile and IPTV). Current areas of innovation include Cloud and Big Data, cyber security and 5G. To achieve this success, IBC has identified growth areas early, understood the business models and delivered an international audience of buyers. The technology market represented at IBC is worth $10B per year.The CEO’s role is to lead the organisation by researching, facilitating and implementing a sustainable growth strategy. The CEO works closely with the Chairman on all governance, audit and remuneration issues. Each owner appoints a Board member. The Board meets 5 times a year. Also, the CEO is the main figurehead for all media interviews.I am experienced at chairing committees and project teams. I have no experience of chairing a Board. However, I have a close relationship with my chairman and understand the difference in roles and behaviours. Networking: As CEO I use my personal networks to persuade senior executives to contribute to IBC’s strategic development, as well as speak at our ConferenceI regularly represent the industry (IBC’s stakeholders) at international political and commercial presentations and negotiations.Current Objectives: Currently, I am leading IBC’s growth into international markets.
