The Data Systems Coordinator role is the evolution of my previous role of Data Analyst. I serve as the point person for all things data in the organization, from business applications to analytics. Though much of my work is managerial, I am also hands-on in development, primarily in ServiceNow. Responsibilities• Managing and mentoring a team of three developers, one project manager and one data analyst.• Articulating a strategic vision for data systems in the organization and managing projects from conception to completion that realize this vision.• Guiding the organization's digital transformation efforts, primarily with ServiceNow and Salesforce.• Serving as the ServiceNow platform owner, architect and developer (ITSM, scoped applications, Business Rules, UI Pages, Script Includes, Catalog Items, Service Portal Widgets, etc).Accomplishments• Coordinated the selection and implementation of ServiceNow as the organization's primary digital transformation tool (other platforms evaluated: MS Power Platform, Salesforce, Nintex).• Designed (and in most cases built) several scoped applications in ServiceNow: An applicant tracking system to manage the recruitment pipeline, an app to manage positions and the employees in those positions, a new employee onboarding app, an employee housing app. These workflows were previously done manually and/or with legacy applications.• Migrated ITSM from Freshservice to ServiceNow, including incident, change, request and the CMDB. Built scoped application for the automated management of AD user accounts from ServiceNow (we didn't use the SN Integration Hub application for this because of licensing cost). • Customized the ServiceNow Service Portal to serve as the employee intranet.Environment: ServiceNow, Salesforce, MS SQL, Power BI, Python.

Though I was hired as a data analyst, my role quickly broadened to include the responsibilities of a business analyst, project manager and application architect. Responsibilities:• Understanding and documenting organizational processes.• Evaluating new software solutions for the automation of organizational processes.• Coordinating the implementation of new software solutions as well as feature updates to existing solutions.• Serving as the Salesforce platform owner and architect.• Extraction and analysis of student and employee data in ad-hoc reports and dashboards. • Collaborating with management in the development of data metrics to measure and monitor strategic plan objectives. • Presenting reports on student data to commissioners and executive management. Accomplishments:• Coordinated the rollout of a new student information system (Dash) in 17 youth schools and 6 adult education centres. The decentralized architecture of the new system allows it to function in the schools even when the internet is not working (a common occurrence in the North).• Coordinated the implementation of Salesforce for the Post Secondary Student Services and Teacher Training departments. I did the majority of the Salesforce force configurations myself.• Built a data warehouse for student and employee data, sourcing from student information systems, the Quebec Ministry of Education and other applications.Environment: MS SQL, Power BI, Python, Salesforce

My journey in this organisation involved all the interpersonal dynamics of living in community. In addition, my ministries largely focused on being present to those who are marginalized:• Pastoral care of elderly and children in multicultural neighborhood of Montreal (Saint Michel)• Presence among the homeless and underprivileged with les Missionnaires dans la rue (Québec) and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society (Ottawa & Montreal).• Presence among those in substance abuse recovery at Maison Arc-en-ciel (Québec) and Jericho Roads (Ottawa).• Service to migrant farm workers and their families with the Catholic Worker (California).• Creation and maintenance of websites and media using PHP, Wordpress, MySQL and GIMP. • Technical support for members of the community and other organisations.

I left the business world to focus on service. I lived in the Emmanuel community with 20 other men, some of whom were recovering from addiction, homelessness and/or immigration irregularities. Living in community involved conflict resolution, discussion, and improving interpersonal skills. While living in this community, I put my technical skills to use in the contruction and modification of websites for community and religious organisations using PHP, Wordpress, MySQL, CSS and Joomla.

When the former head of the software development team suddenly left and took half of his staff with him, I was tasked with rebuilding. This position involved a lot of motivating and people-management, however I still remained hands-on, particularly with SQL. • Hired eight developers in Canada and Costa Rica to bring staff up to 15.• Managed two supervisors, one in Canada the other in Costa Rica.• Budgeted $1 million annually.• Application support and project management for transactional website, snail mail marketing campaigns, payments platform, and in-house CRM.• Served as the primary point person between the business side and IT development. • Developed an analytics platform using Microsoft Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Excel, SPSS Clementine and LogiXML. Predictive analytics were used extensively in the snail mailing campaigns. In my previous position as IT helpdesk manager, I became increasingly involved in the business side and was thus asked to serve as manager of the payment processing and security department.• Managed a team of 60 call center agents handling high frequency web and phone transactions by credit card, bank wire and ACH.• Worked with software development team to integrate new payment methods and to automate payment security. The payment system was an in-house .NET application.• Analyzed transaction data using SQL, Excel and SPSS to refine security rules.

• Managed a team of 8 technicians supporting a 24/7, 200 seat call center as well back office, accounting and administration.• Responsible for entire IT infrastructure, including desktops, network, WAN, phone system, power backup (generator), HVAC, cabling and procurement.• Remained hands-on while managing staff.Environment: Citrix, Avaya, Office, Juniper, Cisco, IIS, MS SQL, Custom .NET applications
