Key achievements: • Initiating a Trust wide Training Needs Assessment in conjunction with NHS Shared Business Services to support achievement of budget savings, and to drive a culture of financial control through effective use of the financial and procurement systems.• Preparation of the Trust’s Working Capital Memorandum over a five year time horizon, and presentation to the Board for approval and ratification. Very positive feedback received from the Chair and Chief Executive of the Trust, and also the due diligence accountants who were assigned to the Trust.• Completing a major finance department restructure following the merger of several finance departments to form the newly created Trust, generating recurrent staffing cost reductions of £90k and 2.5 WTE.• Project managing the ‘transfer in’ of £11m non-current assets and £1.2m working capital balances under Transforming Community Services, successfully negotiating out £1m of high risk assets.• Lead on the setting up of shadow financial reporting arrangements to reflect the Provider Services Division having been granted the status of ‘Autonomous Provider Organisation’ (APO) – one of six taking part in a national ‘pilot’. • Implementing financial systems to ensure the APO was able to produce NHS trust format statutory accounts for the first time compliant with recognised accounting standards and practices.
