Elected position in an Illinois municipality consisting of approximately 15,000 residents. Responsible for the supervision of the Public Health and Safety Department, including the building department, the code hearing department and all inspectors charged with enforcing zoning and building codes. Reviewed Village Codes and Ordinances for interpretation and modification. Revised and implemented a new Downtown Business District Zoning Code thereby helping existing and future businesses operating in the Village. Revised the Zoning Code. Responsible for drafting and implementing the most comprehensive residential and commercial building codes and related codes, including plumbing, electrical and mechanical codes. Created and implemented annual department budget. Reduced the Public Health and Safety Department’s budget by over 30% without reducing services or assistance to property owners, businesses and residents. Responsible for the cleanup and removal of one of the ugliest buildings in the Chicago area and replaced with a modern retail strip-mall. Oversaw the construction of various retail buildings/properties including restaurants, automotive repair, automotive dealership and various mixed-use buildings.

Presided over and conducted meetings and hearings relating to all matters before the Board. Ushered in a new era of working with property owners for the improvement of the Village and increased resources.
