As the Senior Vice President of the Emerging Businesses Group, I am entrusted with the responsibility of driving the commercial, operational, and financial success of a diverse portfolio of businesses poised for growth. This includes leading and overseeing the strategic direction of the Europe Steel Group and a portfolio of Emerging Businesses including Tensar, Performance Reinforcing Steel, Impact Metals, Construction Services, and Anchoring Systems (formerly known as EDSCO). My role is defined by the pursuit of untapped opportunities and the development of innovative growth strategies in collaboration with our overall corporate strategy.

As Vice President of Commercial for Commercial Metal Company’s North American business, I am responsible for the unified commercial strategy including activities in marketing, sales, product development, and customer service to drive profitable growth and market share. I have direct responsibilities over digital solutions and e-commerce, customer experience, and innovative products, and lead many cross-divisional cross-functional teams to advance commercial efforts including voice of the customer and buyer journey work.

As Divisional Vice President of the Southeast Division for Commercial Metals Company I had full P&L responsibility over the operations including 3 steel mills, 14 recycling yards, and 11 rebar fabrication plants with over 2000 employees. Successfully implemented initiatives around people including leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

I joined AZZ in 2017 as Sr. Vice President with full P&L responsibility over GalvaBar and later all of Surface Technologies. I was initially charged with the commissioning and commercialization of a first of its kind continuous galvanizing rebar line, GalvaBar. I was later given responsibility over Surface Technologies, the businesses in adjacent markets to galvanizing specifically powder coating & metal plating. I implemented a growth strategy for Surface Technologies that led to three (3) acquisitions to position Surface Technologies as the largest powder coater in North Texas. In addition, GalvaBar was successfully commercialized and became a disruptive product in the corrosion resistant reinforcing steel market. Commercial Metals Company acquired GalvaBar in 2020. Commercial Metals Company offered me a position as part of the acquisition.

L & M Steel Company, a privately held company, was founded in 1965 to supply fabricated reinforcing steel to the Central and South Texas Areas. I joined as President and Partner in 2013. The business had been underperforming, and was on the cusp of insolvency. I implemented a new approach to the business called, C.A.R.E. C.A.R.E. stands for Customer Service, Accountability, Returns, and Entrepreneurial Spirit. As part of C.A.R.E., profits are allocated between reinvestment in the company, a quarterly employee incentive plan, and giving back to the community. The business performance improved dramatically over a 5 year period and led to a successful transaction with CMC acquiring the business in 2019.

Start-up Cloud based market research company that collected market data in real-time from a system of strategically placed computer kiosks in selected demographic areas; 25 employees.- Achieved the rollout of 7 kiosk sites across 5 states in less than 6 months. Managed 20 employees.- Developed an operational plan to execute the conceptual business model with a $1M initial capital budget.- Instituted back-end systems to increase productivity and support the business.- Authored the field representative manual.
