I would describe myself as a highly competent, motivated, flexible, proactive individual that enjoys working in fast paced environments often with conflicting priorities. I can learn quickly, take initiative, have strong organisational skills and extremely resilient.I have managed a variety of delivery teams successfully at Team Manager level and at Head of Department level with over 22 years of management experience. These roles have all been people focused with spans of control ranging from team sizes of 12 up to 51. My most recent area was 150 people in total with 10 direct line reports. I am passionate about managing and developing teams and individuals to fulfil their potential to be the best they can be. I have a track record of developing a strong people culture embedded throughout every team.I have thoroughly enjoyed the number of management courses I have successfully completed which focused on People Management, ranging from Emotional Intelligence, Behavioural Economics, practical working models to improve people performance and methods to build, nurture and encourage collaborative teams. I have successfully managed and delivered Tax Year End for more than 10 years in succession with each year providing new opportunities to develop and shape the next project. For me this is a perfect example of how my skills and attributes can be utilised from my Project Management experience and application of Prince 2, Emotional Intelligence when building and motivating a workforce, Lean application to continuously improve upon previous years and looking for opportunities to reduce waste and improve quality, Budget management, using my ACCA F1 & F2 knowledge to deliver a project within cost and my own personal resilience in a highly pressured and fast paced working environment, together with my organisational skills, decision making and ability to deliver. Improving current systems and developing new ways of working is fully embedded within all my teams as part of my team and departments Lean culture, all operating at greater efficiency and productivity levels with a high focus on customer outcomes. I have a number of Transferable skills which can be successfully applied across sectors and not just limited to “Financial Services”, all of which I believe will aide my future success and ensure I bring value into my next venture.

Responsible for the department budget of 4.5 million pounds each year, the Tax Year End project and most recently been a part of the successful largest transformation programme within the Financial Services industry in Europe to date.The Investments Operation covers a broad range of transactions from New Business to Closures, Servicing requests, Fee facilitation and the Re-Registration of assets. These transactions are carried out across all four of Old Mutual’s products. Achieved a reduction in operating costs of £550k in 2020 (a saving of £1M in 2 years) with no detriment to customer service; achieved through lean efficiencies. Accomplishing a further reduction of upheld complaints (40%) and increasing in quality figures to 98.43% during 2020. Established a continuous improvement agenda which delivers a material improvement in operational cost and quality each year (primarily through the adoption of LEAN principles). Exceeded all KPI’s, provided support to other departments and reduced the cost base on a year on year trend while taking an increasing volume of transactions (an additional 10% each year). -
