I'm a smart, accomplished editor (18 years as Managing Editor of Traditional Home magazine) and a leader with extensive experience in written and digital communications, including social media, with a long history of nonprofit volunteering and 501(c)(3) startups. I enjoy speaking to groups; I'm an excellent communicator. At Traditional Home I managed the production and editing of the magazine, a national publication with a circulation of 850,000. I managed the brand’s website and led the social media team. I supervised 5 editors. In my time at Traditional Home I played a key role on the editorial team that took the magazine from subscription launch to the largest circulation high-end shelter magazine in the U.S. I oversaw the unveiling of the magazine’s website, producing all editorial content for 5 years. In 2013 I led the process to redesign the website, including the move to a new platform. I managed the social media team, resulting in the brand’s digital platforms achieving 132% of our fiscal 2017 target for monthly visits set by the company.In the nonprofit sector, I conceived and co-founded the Charger Pride Scholarship Foundation, and currently serve as president. In 5 years, the Foundation has awarded $80,000 in college scholarships to students from Tulsa Memorial high school. For the past 17 years I have volunteered for Everybody Wins! Iowa, reading with and mentoring students, and served 6 years (2 terms) on the board of directors. I am currently serving my second 4-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Pleasant Hill Public Library. The Board of Trustees has oversight of all functions of the library, including budgeting. I have volunteered 7 times in the Des Moines Public Schools and United Way’s Graduation Walk, an outreach to students at risk of leaving school or not graduating, and volunteered 10 times for Rebuilding Together workdays.I'm looking for a new opportunity.
