Michael Doherty was appointed Professor of Law and Head of the Law Department at Maynooth University in August 2013. he graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an LL.B and from Queen's College, Cambridge with an LL.M. He attended the Honourable Society of Kings' Inns and was called to the Irish Bar in October 2002. His PhD on Irish Trade Union Membership was awarded by Trinity College Dublin. He was Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Law and Government at DCU from 2007-10 and Head of the Law Group in the School from 2011-2013.
