Highlights to date include:• Involvement in product redesign, from financial standpoint (Revenue/Cost implications).• Involvement in commercial print contract costing. • Design and implementation of aggressive cost cutting strategy across departments.• Design of new capital expenditure procedure, and 5 day month end close. My role includes;• Preparation of budgets (& forecasts) though discussions with department heads, editors, etc. and presentation to CEO/ CFO • Month end reporting, review of cost center analysis, as part of this I would manage variances. • Preparation/ presentation of reports (month end & ad hoc), to enable operational decision making; track strategic projects.• Management of capital spend across group, including interrogation of proposed new projects (business plans) and presentation to CEO/CFO • Ad hoc commercial finance reports; yield analysis, new product plans, • Preparing excel models to give accurate forecasts of FX requirements, deprecation charges• Checking & management of AP payment file to ensure it is in line with cash flow, and all priority creditors are included• Track weekly operational activities, newspaper pagination, libel payments• Constant improvement of our accounting process, this service is outsourced, and I m always trying to improve the offering through the monthly review.• Assistance in year end audit process & statutory reporting requirements, insure we are in line with IFRS, dealing with auditor's queries etc.
