Is responsible for the procurement and planning of materials and products to meet customer needs. This involves being responsible for directing and administering all purchasing and planning related activities. Has the overall responsibility for inventory management and BaaN ERP business system MPS. Selects suppliers, documents and utilizes supplier capabilities.Recommends major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in price or delivery terms.Reviews on a daily basis purchase price variance (PPV), investigates causes and recommends solutions.Assures that suppliers records are maintained in ERP database.BaaN ERP master production schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet customer requirements.Investigates and solves issues related to material shortages.Meets with suppliers as needed to resolve issues and discuss new products and needs, such as quality, delivery, and container and quantity related details.Administers and maintains quality assurance (ISO) procedures and work instructions for the buying/planning functions.Continually looks for ways to implement continuous improvement methods.Orchestrates and maintains forecasting schedules with CSG managers and measures the accuracy of each respective area.Incorporates i2 DP (Demand Planner) technology to measure and improve forecast accuracy.Monitors inventory investment to support corporate goals and implements procedures to maintain optimum inventory levels.Responsible for the overall production planning process and scheduling functions.Works on new product development teams.

Daily operations of 35 person department. Maintenance, receiving, shipping, and production. Most sales orders were short lead and required a fast turn around. Management of all incoming goods and production planning.

Production supersion of a 35 person work cell in a union environment. Managing work force to meet hourly shipping schedules. Also handling the need to shuffle personnel due to high absenteeism.
