About Michael Dunaway

Michael Dunaway’s undergraduate work was at Haskell Indian Nations University in American Indian Studies and his Master’s work was in the field of Geography at the University of Kansas. He received his doctorate from Cornell University in the field of Natural Resources. Currently, he is a Future Professors Postdoctoratal Fellow at Syracuse University's Maxwell School. His interest is Indigenous energy sovereignty. Designed a model to demonstrate the feasibility of using solar panels to power biodiesel refineries. Demonstrated that smaller (10 Gallons per day) refineries could use solar power. Proved that several smaller facilities could be used on reservations to ease the economic and environmental burden placed on Native Americans due to massive fossil fuel consumption and global warming.
