At Volvo CE I worked as a small soil compaction design engineer. I was a direct member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for complete machine design and development (structures, powertrain, hydraulic, electric/electronic, operator’s environment, verification/validation). I worked with diverse members of the Operations (Production), Purchasing/Supplier Management teams as well as collaborated with Sales & Marketing and Aftermarket team members to coordinate product build. Some of the projects I was involved in include: the design of an alternative fuel cooler placement with blower fan to reduce hot air near operator, I created mounting brackets and weldments to prevent possible warranty claims and assembly issues, and solved calculations for articulation lock, static tilt tests, and limiting machine fluid volumes/angles of operation for marketing. In addition, I also researched and documented the compliance of ISO standards and required tests in a design checklist, performed reliability growth testing to find MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and oversaw the assembly line during the first machine build to identify assembly issues.

- Designed and analyzed 112KLBF Universal Calibration Machine- Designed a torque calibration retrofit to convert old manual weight application to hydraulic pump- Designed and analyzed a torque verification kiosk to calibrate torque wrenches.- Modeled a Dead Weight Calibration Machine project proposal with room layout and machine locations.- Converted hand drawings of Dead Weight Calibration Machines to 3D CAD models and updated to the current revision.

At ITT I worked as a design engineer with the R&D team to prepare the larger EnviZion valve sizes for launch. This was accomplished by creating new parts to fix failures, as well as testing parts for quality. I also worked on devices to improve lab functionality. I modeled a new steam loop and created a vacuum switch for tests.
