After the succcess of Design Shanghai, Mike set up Media 10 China. Working closely with the Chinese government Mike was granted a licence to set up a wholly owned foreign events business in China. Employing up to 50 staff based in Shanghai, turning over annual 7 million GBP. Mike launched several award winning events including Design Shanghai, Design China Beijing, Xintiandi Design Festival, Ideal Home Show China and Best of British (BOB a collabaration witht the British Government in Shanghai). Mike pioneered several 'firsts' to the events industry in China. Before returning back to the UK Mike oversaw the sale of the China Design portfolio to Clarion.

Within Media 10, he launched Icon magazine in 2002, the architect and design industry’s best and most successful publication. Mike then switched to events, taking responsibility for all of the sales generated from the launch of Grand Designs Live in 2005. He was responsible for all of the sales and sponsorship across all Media 10 events, and looked after Media 10’s business interests in South Africa. In 2014 Mike introduced an international design show in Shanghai to the company portfolio. Mike managed a team of over 50 members of staff, achieving over £20 million turnover, dealing with over 4300 exhibitors and 40 sponsors, across all of Media 10’s brands and events.
