Offshore Surveyor
CurrentResponsible for the operation and maintenance of the online survey system, and the execution, monitoring and reporting of all survey operational tasks.• Interpret data quality criteria.• Set up on-line systems.• Plan and undertake the calibration of the survey system and sensors.• Calculate tidal and water column parameters for use within the survey system / project.• Install and configure positioning systems.• Calibrate positioning systems.• Calculate and adjust survey observations.• Interpret and apply datum parameters.• Understanding of survey principles and how they are used for planning surveys.• Working knowledge of environmental conditions and marine practices.• Providing survey positioning and navigational support using a range of technical software and data acquisition systems, applying calibrations and verification checks to ensure quality assurance.• QC of all collected and processed data, including final charting.• For the operation, at a full and detailed level of knowledge, of navigation and positioning software and hardware during all operations. Providing support of on-line team, particularly during any critical operations.• Creating and maintaining all field background maps, runline and waypoint files throughout the project, including backup / superseding of all files.• Carrying out all necessary survey calculations and computations, and ensuring cross-checking of results.• Routine checking of all survey software and hardware setting throughout the project.• Ensuring detailed and accurate maintenance of daily operational logs.• Writing survey report in a clear and concise manner.• Ensuring all positioning and logging equipment operates within calibration acceptance criteria.
