Managed multiple Capital and Expense funded sidewalk repair contracts around city-owned trees. In charge of budgeting over $5 million in funding for work and calculating projected overrun quantities for various line items. Reviewed and approved material submittals for apprx. 30 different line items associated with scope of contract work including topsoil, stone foundation material, and cement. Mapped and routed hundreds of addresses simultaneously for punchlist and guarantee inspections. In charge of daily and weekly reports submitted by subcontracted resident engineers overseeing sidewalks repairs. Performed root assessments with string and level in cases where sidewalks and driveways were not able to be repaired to full Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Supervised root pruning and shaving. Created sidewalk and driveway designs as well as projected associated costs. Ensured NYC Labor Law was being followed by contractors via payroll review. Performed initial reviews of payments submitted by contractors. Represented NYC Parks as deposition witness in court cases.

Analyzed incoming applications for construction related activities near street trees. Reviewed, and eventually approved, site plans presented by applicants showing how they would be meeting their zoning requirements with NYC Department of Buildings. Performed field inspections and inventories on all existing trees near active construction sites. Inspected proximity of proposed tree plantings from above and below ground infrastructure in order to determine best species to plant. Created work orders and permits for pruning, planting, installing guards, excavation, transplanting, and removal of street trees. Performed post-storm level II tree risk assessments and created work orders for risk mitigation. Corresponded with applicants and general public on phone or in person about the importance of urban forests. Wrote arborist reports (as well as rebuttals) detailing extent of construction related tree damage cases.

Marked and tallied timber sales in Erving, Townsend, Wendell, and Otter River state forests including big BAF sampling. Measured all aspects of permanent Continuous Forestry Inventory plots. Located boundaries using a compass and records in deeds for plots of land. Scribed and painted boundary lines once located. Digitized parcels harvested under Chapter 132 for fiscal year 2016+2017 for Amherst and Pittsfield administrative regions.

Helped implement silvicultural treatments in order to meet goals of private landowners. Made silvicultural decisions in the field. Marked and tallied timber to be harvested as well as designating acceptable growing stock trees to be protected. Calculated volumes from timber cruises in both board feet and tonnage. Met with loggers to discuss best locations for skid trails, trucking roads, and landings.
