Responsibilities include leading, managing and developing a professional finance team that is responsible for the financial consolidation, reporting and related analysis of results for one of the largest global advertising agencies. TBWA is a unit of Omnicom Group (NYSE:OMC), one of the world's largest advertising networks. As the Assistant Controller, I lead a team that utilized the Hyperion Financial Management suite of reports and Hyperion Enterprise Management to manage and coordinate a financial close process that communicated monthly financial and operating results. We ensured the integrity of data within the accounting system; investigated and explained performance variances and tracked the progress of various financial initiatives within the company. This role required me to apply significant professional judgment to develop, communicate and implement accounting policies and procedures which complied with GAAP while minimizing the impact on our business. My background and previous experiences make me a subject matter expert to our various operating units and the key personnel within the operating units, further enhancing GAAP knowledge throughout the organization and enabling a collaborative environment within TBWA. Some of the complex accounting issues encountered include revenue recognition, M&A support for purchase accounting and dispositions, fair value measurements, accounting for leases and income taxes.Additional responsibilities in my role included managing a monthly budgeting and forecasting process which provided a rolling twelve-month projection of our revenues and operating expenses and providing ad-hoc reports and analysis to support business owners within the company.

Responsible for Duane Reade's external financial reporting as well as the financial planning and analysis for our pharmacy operations. Duane Reade is the largest retail drugstore chain in the New York Metropolitan area, operating over 250 stores. The Duane Reade drugstore chain is a Walgreen family company (NYSE:WBA).Significant SEC filings during my tenure include quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings and a Form S-4 Registration Statement issue for new senior secured notes and registration offering for Series B preferred stock. Responsible for the implementation and proper execution of GAAP accounting polices and procedures as well as the research and resolution of technical accounting issues. Significant areas of focus include fair value measurements, accounting for transactions contemplated by real estate leasing group, accounting for loyalty program costs, asset impairments, vendor rebates and debt extinguishment.In addition to external reporting, I was responsible for the financial planning and analysis for our pharmacy operations. This required close collaboration with corporate and regional leaders to craft accurate forecasts at each level of our business e.g., store-level, district, regional and chain-wide, over varying time frames. The forecasts provided sales, gross profit margin and store contribution for each location as well as labor budgets to ensure each store is appropriately staffed. Developed KPI metrics to measure performance and collaborated with users to analyze trends and develop plans for performance improvement. Responsible for the management of multiple client service engagements, including financial statement audits, internal control testing, reviews and similarly related services. My role at Deloitte provided me with wide latitude and discretion in making the critical decisions necessary for the successful management of each client engagement. During my tenure at Deloitte I was responsible for managing services which generated annual billings in excess of $2.5 million. My overall responsibilities included preparation and presentation of audit strategy and business plans for the Audit Committee and senior management, including audit budgets and pricing, and the communication of results and recommendations. Daily activities included leading, managing and developing the professionals on my engagement teams, resolving regulatory and complex accounting issues on my client engagements and the interpretation and application of new accounting pronouncements and/or implementation of SEC reporting regulations. Completed selective two-year assignment in Deloitte's National Office, focusing on policy development and the implementation of new and developing professional standards.
