Quality Assurance Manager
CurrentI continued to implement the Quality Assurance Program Improvement Plan (QAPIP) as a roadmap to gaining approval of the QA Program (QAP) by the NSO client. In 2008, the NSTec QA Program was submitted to the Nevada Site Office for review and approval, For the first time in 10+ years, the NSTec QAP was formally approved by the NSO client. In addition, NSTec made a contractual commitment that they would achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification within 3 years from the start of the contract. I facilitated a ISO Workgroup who assisted with getting NSTec ISO 9001:2000 certified in 2008 within 2 years from the start of the NSTec contract and on the first attempt. A year later NSTec became Certified to ISO 9001:2008 on its first attempt.I manage the Quality Assurance Department and oversee the development, improvement, implementation, and approval of the corporate Quality Assurance Program (QAP) by our Department of Energy (DOE) client. While the NSTec QA Program is developed to meet a rigorous NQA-1:2000 nuclear standards/applications, it is also a ISO 9001 certified program for the services that we provide to our government client. I oversee the assessment of the program to ensure that the program is being instituted to the set of quality requirements and implementation documents that ensure a quality product is delivered, on schedule, and in a safe manner that protects our most valuable resource (our employees).I also facilitated a Quality Supplier Working Group (QSWG) for putting in place a mechanism that would allow for sharing of Supplier evaluation data across the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) which consist is 8 sites. I was the primary designer and developer of the Master Approved Suppliers List (MASL) that allows the NSE to documents across the NSE. This database and process has saved the government upwards of $2.4m over a 3 year period with a 13x Return on Investment.
