I have Used my experience to determine optimal, progressive markdown strategies through the end of each product's life and have review actual sales and margin against projections and adjust markdown budget and strategies. I am also responsible for analyzing historical promotional data to identify productive and non-productive promotions and make recommendations for promotional opportunities. During the summer of 2018, I interned with the Value Optimization team of Bed Bath and Beyond at their Corporate Campus in Union, NJ. The team mission is to identify and execute on opportunities that enhance company profitability and value proposition. I was responsible for the creation of price families and ladders of product data across multiple concepts to allow for the maintenance of price relationships in regards to varying product attributes and sizes. As I created price relationships between products through numerical price families and ladders, the possibility for price optimization became a reality as my work was uploaded to Revionics, which is a software package that helps retailers determine the optimal price to sell a product at to achieve goals such as increased competitiveness, increased marginal revenue, increased net/total sales, and increased volume within stores and online.Additionally, I helped a member of my team by completing over a couple thousand data scraping validations to help refine the company’s dynamic pricing engine. In today’s ecommerce environment, our competitors are constantly changing prices and it is of the upmost importance for a company to stay competitively priced with competitors to generate the greatest amount of traffic within our stores and online website.During this internship, I witnessed how pricing analysts and strategists analyze data to create insights and execute through strategic price changes that enhance profitability. I learned how to efficiently manage time while work independently. I have gained and improved on my capacity to speak with people in a professional setting, my ability to apply theory and create insights, and my understanding of the pricing and its major determinants that effect it.

I worked as a sales associate and merchandising associate for approximately four years. I have experience with servicing customers, working a register, handling customer's complaints and finding resolutions, assisting customers locate merchandise that satisfies their needs. I ensured that the sales floor was clean and presentable. At times, I made signs to denote sales, arranged merchandise to stand out to customers, create and move fixtures, and switch posters all around the store.Working in a large retail store has taught me how to be proactive and accomplish tasks with limited time at hand.
