He has appeared pro hac vice in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (2003). Prior to becoming an attorney, was an environmental research chemist and consultant. Has published a number of technical articles and has given many technical lectures in the field of environmental chemistry. In 1995, received a patent for invention of a high-tech carbon monoxide air filtration unit. Has published legal articles and has given seminars in the areas of real estate and estate planning. Is a member of the Board of Education for Consolidated School District 158 (Huntley); Chair of Legislative Committee and member or Finance and Building & Grounds Committees. Served on the Huntley Library District Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2000 and was its President from 1998-2000. Has served on the Centegra Foundation Board of Directors from 1996 to 2003 and 2013 to Present. Is Past President of the McHenry County (Illinois) Bar Association. Also active in the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce. Member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the McHenry County Bar Association.
