Audit and QA of installed network equipment and ensure proper deployment of equipment and network information is collated and archived. Support the customers needs once equipment becomes “in-life”.

Southport

Working under contract and later in a permanent role at Southport Cable Station UK, on 360 Atlantic (Hibernia). I was the 360 representative, liaising with Tycom Commissioning & Acceptance dept on the commissioning and testing for the Submarine Line Equipment up to the final acceptance. Overseeing the testing on the 10G/bit/sec DWDM Submarine Transmission Equipment I was also responsible for the integration of the undersea cable system into the Nortel DWDM LH terrestrial network. I was also in charge of the maintenance of the cable station, new installations, integration and documentation of the system.

Working in a permanent role, responsible for network transmission over an area stretching from Birmingham to Scotland. Working with Alcatel SDH equipment (1641’s, 1651’s 1664’s and DWDM 1686’s). Also using Nortel Passport ATM equipment and Tellabs Martis Cross Connect equipment. Overseeing all installations/operations in the area and liasing with 3rd party contractors to get the network up and running. Company went into a sell-off.

Working in various locations around the world (Thailand, Egypt, USA, Caribbean, South America) Completed FLAG cable project in ‘97 and completed PAN-AM cable project in Ecuador in ’98. Also Factory acceptance testing WDM Equipment in North Carolina, USA.
