Economics PhD focused on international macro and trade with a broad range of experience. Currently responsible for Bank of Canada work on Advanced Economies and Emerging Markets including the euro area, India and China. I have a deep understanding of emerging and advanced economies and G20/G7 macro policy coordination issues having also worked at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, as well as in the group responsible for chairing the G20 group responsible for international macroeconomic policy coordination and cooperation at Finance Canada. Areas of research and publications range from widely cited analysis of the determinants of world real interest rates, to the determinants of trade patterns and growth in India and China.
