My responsibility was to lead the conference planning committee with direct oversight over the recruitment of speakers and session content, off-site tours, and networking events; plan and approve all logistics involving the venue; draft communications; and manage the budget for this annual event (>$150K), which numbered between 350 and 450 attendees annually. Drafted the program budget and coordinated the submission of a federal CSP grant application, which was awarded to our subsidiary, the Connecticut Charter Schools Association, to expand and replicate high quality charter schools in the state over the next 7 years. I developed the program budget totaling nearly $27 million in full compliance with the RFP’s requirement and standards, drafted the budget narrative, assisted in the writing of the program application, and developed and executed on the project plan for submission within the shortened deadline of the grant application window.Curated and facilitated the entire suite of school support-based programming for the New York Charter Schools Association, including their Critical Friends Visits program, regional school leader meetings, 3 stakeholder working groups (Operations, Board Members, and Data Managers), and special and recurring webinars, which provide direct support to the state’s 350 charter schools.
