Michael is an award-winning communicator and a highly accomplished leader with 22 years of experience managing diverse cross-functional teams as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor for the Department of the Air Force. He serves as the principal advisor on issues that impact communication strategy, branding, media operations, and community relations, as well as developing awareness campaigns targeting the public, local, state, and federal officials, special interest groups, and civic organizations. He possesses the ability to develop and manage teams through both physical and mental challenges while fostering an environment of commitment, resilience, and integrity. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various agencies and units, including the White House, Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Treasury, United States Forces Korea, 8th Army, 82nd Airborne Division, 7th Fleet, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, NATO Special Operations Component Command, Special Operations Joint Task Force, National Security Agency, U.S. Cyber Command, Cyber National Mission Force, and the National Security Agency’s Election Security Group. As a proven combat leader, he received the Bronze Star, Army Combat Action Badge, and Air Force Combat Action Medal for his contributions with special forces during the war in Afghanistan. He is also an experienced, results-driven Deputy Inspector General dedicated to promoting efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity within organizations. He works to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse by providing oversight through investigations and audits, identifying, and addressing vulnerabilities, and reports findings to Congress and other authorities. He also makes recommendations, provides guidance and training, maintains independence, and ensures government agencies and organizations operate with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
