Throughout my years in MSDWT, I have had opportunities to work with students, employees, school board members and administration in a variety of ways. As the Director of Energy Management, I ran a conservation program and was consulted on new "highly efficient" , and most cost effective equipment (i.e. 1800 ton, highly efficient Trane chillers, Power Factor Correction per building, new zoning for efficient operation of HVAC equipment per building, natural gas procurement with other local districts, and special Rider clauses with I.P.L., to name a few).In addition, I was responsible for keeping a staff of 120 school bus drivers available to transport the districts 10,000 students, purchasing and maintaining the district's 128 buses and district vehicles, and working with the M.SD.W.T. Police to monitor the safety and well being of students, property (24 hrs a day, 365 days a year.) In 2004, I worked with Synovia Solutions on a test of their newly developed GPS software/hardware pilot program to track our school buses and district vehicles, to maintain safe, efficient student transportation.I spent 10 years instructing Middle School level English/Language Arts, and 2 years developing and maintaining the new Reading Intervention Program at the Middle School Level.
