I chose to study Computer Science because I’ve always had a passion for numbers and computers and also because MIT has a great Computer Science program. While in high school, I participated in math contests every year. During my senior year, I scored among the top 31 in the nation on the national exam. I narrowly missed out the top 25, which would have meant that I could have been on the US Math Olympiad team!I worked at Oracle after graduating. My summer internships while at MIT were with Lucent Technologies, Intersystems, and MIT LCS, as well as full stack or back end positions with AceDSL, Apache Trading LLC, and Apton Inc. For now, I would like to become a Senior Software Engineer and eventually progress into a position as Group Manager at an established software company. The best part of my work experience so far has been learning new technologies and playing around with the finished product to enhance it further. Another enjoyable part of my software positions has been interacting with team members to learn from them and delivering successful projects.I bring efficient problem-solving skills coming from a math background in high school, including careful weighing of all factors when considering a task/problem at hand. My school background includes algorithms and data structures, which goes well together with my quantitative reasoning skills. Some of the biggest challenges I've faced during my academic and professional career have been learning new technologies quickly in order to finish projects on time. During the early part of my career, acquiring skills related to new tech was tough and expensive but with the development of new online resources, I hope to be able to gain all more knowledge and tech skills.Tech Skills: JavaScript, Java, CSS, MySQL, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, AWS, Docker, RDBMS, NoSQL, MongoDB, Python, OOPWhile not working, I am interested in team sports (mostly local area), collectibles such as sports trading cards, music, and also some of the newer forms of online gaming.
