Michael Leonida started his career in hair styling at the John Dellaria Salon in Boston in 1999. In 2008, he joined the Salon Mario Russo team on Newbury Street. During his tenure there, he trained with the renowned stylists Mario Russo mastering his skills in precision cutting and styling. His advanced education in hair design has been extensive, training with Vidal Sassoon, Shu Uemura, Oribe, Toni & Guy. In addition, Michael has worked as a L’Oreal Educator, traveling throughout the United States training stylists on cutting and styling techniques for L’Oreal’s, Shu Uemura Line.His creative work has been featured on the cover of The Improper Bostonian and has graced many designer runways at both New York and Boston Fashion Weeks. He has designed signature hair looks for fashions most reportable designers such as Herve Leger, Emily Muller, Marc Jacobs, Mike and Ton, Yuna Yang, Yigal Azrouel, Sonia Rykiel, and Betsey Johnson to name a few.An avid photographer, fashion stylist and art director, Michael’s photo submission of Salon Mario Russo’s editorial work earned them a top ten nod in Oribe Hair Care’s, “International Back Stage Challenge”Michael keeps his finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the world of fashion and translates this to wearable and easy to manage styles. His pleasant and unassuming demeanor coupled with this innate ability to conceptualize what looks best on a client and bring it to fruition keeps his clients happy and coming back for more.
