Responsibilities include teaching weekly lab activities and lectures on the origin and identification of common Earth-forming minerals.

On Dr. Suzanne Autrey's research team at Northern Illinois University. Research topics include analytical petrology of metamorphic rocks, and mid-crustal deformation. I studied the Powell-Kyanite schist through X-Ray fluorescence, petrographic analysis, and SEM-EDS. I wanted to understand and model the pressure and temperature conditions that created the rock and its constituent minerals, and to further understand the geologic history of Northern Wisconsin in general.

Dr. Mark Frank's research team at Northern Illinois University. Research topics include metallic ore deposits and the search for critical minerals essential for society's transition to renewable energy sources. I have been involved with high-temperature geochemical experiments simulating fluid induced mineral alteration. I analyzed standard reference material from Nevada Gold Mines under SEM, and assisted a graduate student with her exploration of the differing salinities and acidities of hydrothermal fluids that cause potassic and sericitic mineral alterations that are indicative of porphyry copper and gold deposits.

I interned with the Robertson deposit's growth geology team at NGM where I gained experience using Leapfrog along with geologic mapping, sampling, and drill core logging. I also got the opportunity to go underground, and loved it!
